Having worked in ambulances before starting university I remembered the struggles of using glucometers on emergencies. Having used these devices many times in stressful situations, I felt like that there were things to improve upon. Based on the existing technology I developed a new design that would fit the use case of a fast paced environment.

GETTING THE HARD FACTS ON CAMERA
I measured the time my colleagues and I took to make a measurement with a standard device. The measurements we performed under perfect conditions needed between 50 and 75 seconds. In the real environments EMTs and paramedics work in, where lighting is poor and hands are shaky, this takes even longer.
